Hello my lovelies, as we are approaching the peak summers I thought of sharing my summer makeup essentials tips. What I do or how I do my full coverage makeup which lasts long without doing all the norms. That is applying foundation , creme highlight and contour etc etc.
This year , I have been watching and noticing the changing trends in makeup. Just few days back we had the royal wedding and I think the bride looked absolutely stunning and beautiful. She did not try to hide her fine lines or freckles and kept it all natural yet , looked stunning. There is nothing worst than seeing the makeup looking caked up and giving the plastic effect. Its good if you are doing a photo shoot with flash photography but not when its in real you are just going out to have some fun and yet your makeup lasts all night long.
So what I have been doing since last month , is I have stopped using the foundations for summers. Whenever I applied foundation my pores will get clogged up and I have breakouts , as my skin could not breathe. One night at formal dinner as my skin was so bad I just did my skin prep steps and applied a bit of Skin illuminator on high points of my face then I just did spot correction on my face.
Spot Correction:-
What you mean by spot correction ??? Well all you do is first start with your under eye correction. I have dark circles so I apply a peachy tone concealer under eyes, and where ever there is pigmentation on my face. Then I follow it up by a concealer shade which is slightly lighter than my skin tone, and highlight the areas which I corrected. Like my under eyes , angle of mouth , nose etc etc.
Next step is to set it with very full coverage powder . For me I love MAC studio Fix Foundation powder and the other one I m loving at the moment is from KKW beauty Bake & brightening powder. I use shade 2 in both the powders. And in Concealer I use shade 7 to correct it and then to brighten I use shade 5.
Its full coverage and doesn't dry my under eyes areas.

The other concealer I m obsessed and loving it as its full coverage is from tarte cosmetics Shape tape concealer.
Then to set this I use MAC studio fix foundation powder in NC 40. Perfectly sets it with out breaking the concealer and it lasts up to 7 hours.
I have been out in open with out any AC / Fan yet my concealer under eyes or where ever I used haven't budged . After that I realised that I actually don't need to apply foundations always. I can get away with just spot correction and then followed by bronzer , highlighter and a blush.
And what I really love about this technique , that I get ready fast and the makeup still looks good , where people come and compliment me, saying that they love my makeup.
As its so hot , that if I wear too much makeup I really get hot start sweating . And then everything starts melting . If I do touch ups it only makes it look more cake like and heavy . And I do not use fix spray. Still my makeup with spot corrections lasts. I let my natural oils from skin give it that dewy effect rather spray and conceal it. Sometimes if my skin is quite dry specially after a facial I do spray a bit of Hydrating spray on my face before and sometimes after just so it does not give a dry effect on face.
